Aaron McLear

Aaron McLear has over a decade of experience in media relations, campaign strategy, crisis communications, and message development after working at the highest levels of policy and politics.

Prior to establishing The Ginsberg McLear Group, he served as California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Press Secretary. In this role McLear helped plan and execute the Administration’s communications strategy and message development. He managed relations with press around the globe including political, financial, and entertainment news outlets across every media platform.

Previously, he served as a regional press secretary for the Republican National Committee where he helped design and implement media plans for Congressional and gubernatorial campaigns across the country. He also managed press for the RNC’s Presidential convention site selection process and worked on the 2005 Presidential Inaugural Committee.

Before his work as a national political operative, McLear was communications director for the 2004 Bush-Cheney Campaign in the crucial swing state of Ohio. Prior to that, he served Ohio Governor Bob Taft in a number of communications and legislative roles. He began his career as an aide to former Ohio House Speaker and RNC Co-Chair Jo Ann Davidson.

McLear has been a frequent contributor on local and national TV and radio outlets including NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox News, CNN, Fox Business Network, NPR, and the BBC.

McLear lives in Sacramento and is a graduate of The Ohio State University.
